What is “Monster Bump – au”?

“Monster Bump – au” is a playful and interactive phonics game that turns learning into a fun challenge. Students spin, read, and cover words with the “au” sound, helping them develop strong decoding and reading skills through engaging, active learning.

 

How to Play

Here’s how to get started:

Game Setup

• Print the game board and spinner.

• Each player selects 6 counters in a different color.

Spin and Read

• Players take turns spinning the spinner.

• They read aloud the “au” word it lands on.

Cover the Matching Word

• The player finds and covers the matching word on the game board.

Bump Opponent’s Counters

• If another player has already covered that word, the player may bump the counter off and replace it with their own.

Lock Your Spot

• If a player lands on a word they’ve already covered, they can add a second counter to lock the spot. Locked spots can’t be bumped.

Winning the Game

• The first player to get all 6 of their counters on the board wins!
