Nonsense Word Bingo is a game that promotes phonics awareness and reading fluency. By playing this game, children will develop phonics skills, recognise common letter patterns, and increase their confidence in reading. The game also enhances children's ability to sound out words, recognise letter-sound correspondences, and distinguish between real and nonsense words.

To play Nonsense Word Bingo, each student gets a game board with CVC words that are missing one letter. The first student picks up a letter card and looks at their bingo board to see if it can be placed on their game board to make a real word. For example, if the CVC word on the game board is "C_T," a student could pick up a letter card with the letter "A" on it and make the word "CAT." If the student picks up a letter that does not make a word, they put the letter card back, and it's the next player's turn. The winner is the first student to fill their game board with real words.

Nonsense Word Bingo is a fun and engaging game that makes learning phonics enjoyable for young learners. The game encourages students to work together, promotes healthy competition, and enhances phonemic awareness. The game also provides an opportunity for students to practice letter-sound correspondences and word decoding skills. As children play Nonsense Word Bingo, they will develop essential phonics skills while having fun at the same time.
