How to Play Subtraction Bump
-
Preparation:
-
Download and print the "Subtraction Bump" game board.
-
Laminate the game board for durability and repeated use.
-
Provide each player with 10 counters of the same colour. If one player picks blue counters, the other player(s) must choose a different colour.
-
Ensure you have a dice for rolling.
-
-
Setting Up:
-
Each player places a playing piece anywhere on the board to start.
-
-
Gameplay:
-
Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their playing piece around the board based on the dice roll.
-
After moving, players solve the subtraction question on the space they land on.
-
Players then cover up the equivalent number in the middle of the board with one of their coloured counters.
-
-
Bumping:
-
If a player lands on a number already covered by their opponent, they can “bump” that player’s counter off and replace it with their own.
-
If a player lands on a number they have already covered, they place a second counter on top, freezing that spot. Frozen spots cannot be bumped by other players.
-
-
Winning the Game:
-
The first player to use all 10 of their counters is the winner.
